Untitled white

Dropped ceiling panels, 5,2 m x 5,2 m

Former Locher factory, Zurich, 2020

Modern dropped ceilings were initially created to hide the building infrastructure while allowing access for repairs and inspections.

Dressing up the real structures of a building, it reduces in fact the volume of our physical possible reach and encapsulate the bodies within a rigid determined and standardized space, whose qualities are fix and clear: white, mainly square in their form and covering the ceiling in all its length. A dirty white is the consequence of previous habits in the office of the former factory where the ceilings were de-mounted. Darker and yellowish from the color it addresses to smoked cigarettes. Two ceilings are combined.
